Our commitment to your privacy

Mike Atkins Teaching Ministries, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operates The Life Paradigm website, courses, books and study guides, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices that may be available to you.

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Services.

Information we collect

Information you provide

We may collect information you give us when you create an account, enroll in a course, give a gift, order books or study guides, request support, sign up to receive free sessions or email updates, complete a form or survey, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, billing or mailing address, church or organization, account credentials, course activity, preferences, and the content of your messages.

Gift and purchase information

Gifts, donations, and purchases are processed by our payment providers. We may receive transaction details such as your billing name, billing address, gift or purchase amount, payment status, and limited payment-method information. We do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location, course progress, and dates and times of access. We may collect this information through cookies, pixels, logs, and similar technologies.

How we use information

We may use personal information to:

• Provide, administer, and improve the Services;
• Create and maintain accounts and course access;
• Process gifts, donations, and orders, and send receipts and transaction notices;
• Respond to questions and provide support;
• Send the free sessions you request, follow-up emails, ministry updates, and, where permitted, other communications about our teaching and resources;
• Understand how people use our website, courses, and communications;
• Protect the security and integrity of the Services, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms; and
• Comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal rights.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform a contract, comply with law, pursue legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights, or act with your consent.

Disclosure and protection

How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to vendors that help us operate the Services, including Kajabi (our course and website platform), payment processors, hosting providers, video and email providers, analytics services, customer-support tools, book printers and shipping providers, and professional advisers. These providers may use information only as permitted by their agreements with us and applicable law.

We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect our rights, users, or the public; in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of our ministry’s operations; or with your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of advertising or analytics technologies is considered a “sale” or “sharing” under applicable law, eligible users may request to opt out by contacting us as described below.

Cookies and communication choices

We may use essential, preference, analytics, and, if enabled, advertising cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the Services function.

You may unsubscribe from marketing and ministry-update emails through the link in each message. We may still send account, course-access, gift receipt, purchase, security, and other non-promotional communications.

Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Because course access is lifetime, we keep account and course-access information for as long as your account remains active. We keep gift, donation, and purchase records for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting laws. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it within a reasonable time. You may ask us to close your account and delete your information at any time, subject to the records we are legally required to keep.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain targeted advertising, sales, or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive information; or appeal a decision concerning your request.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and applicable law may permit or require us to deny part of a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

California residents

If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us and you, California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of certain sales or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service and pricing. The information described in this policy may include identifiers, commercial information, internet or electronic activity, approximate location, and inferences drawn from those categories.

EEA, United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions

If applicable, you may also have rights to data portability, restriction, objection, and lodging a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We are based in the United States, and personal information is stored and processed in the United States. Where required, we use an approved transfer mechanism or other lawful safeguard.

Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Users under 18 may use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Third-party services

The Services may link to websites or services that we do not control, such as video platforms or social media. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide any additional notice required by law. We will not apply material changes retroactively where doing so would be unfair or unlawful.
